Andaman Island

Andaman Island

Andaman Island – Seri Tanjung Pinang (STP) encompasses two phases and is located at the northeast coast of Tanjung Tokong, Penang, Malaysia. The first phase (STP1) of the reclamation comprising 240 acres was completed in 2006. Reclamation of the 760-acre second phase (STP2) which commenced in 2016, is underway.

This first phase of Seri Tanjung Pinang is with a 240-acre township conceptualized, designed and built by E&O in Penang. Following its launch in 2005, the carefully crafted development is today an exemplar master-planned development hailed as Penang’s most desired residential and investment suburb; a vibrant international community of 3,000 homes with over 22 nationalities.

At Seri Tanjung Pinang, E&O has set an unparalleled benchmark that is now the most desired address on Penang Island.

With reclamation of the next phase completed and infrastructure works in progress, E&O is laying the foundation to unveil our next exemplar, masterplanned community.

Located directly across the waters of Seri Tanjung Pinang and the upcoming Gurney Bay public realm and park, the second phase of this remarkable development is set to become the future pulse of Penang.

Andaman Island

The second phase of Seri Tanjung Pinang (STP2) – Andaman Island aims to be an exemplar development encapsulating the best of island living. A pride of Penang, it will be created according to a holistic masterplan that takes its cue from highly-successful international seafront projects, Phase 2 will offer a range of residential, commercial and leisure facilities to appeal to international investors, holiday-makers and homeowners. It will adopt urban design guidelines to create a living environment that:

  • Respects the heritage of Penang
  • Provides a high quality public realm and accessible waterfront
  • Creates an integrated transport system for walking and cycling
  • Nurtures a series of neighbourhoods within an integrated mixed-use community

E&O’s achievements with Seri Tanjung Pinang are not just in terms of completing the extensive land reclamation and the building of homes. Its true success has come from the company’s focus on value creation and community building, by conceptualising innovative luxury residential enclaves, reinventing tropical architecture, focusing on luxurious details and designing vibrant retail spaces.

Gurney Bay

Over and above the concession rights to reclaim 760 acres for the Andaman Island – Seri Tanjung Pinang Phase 2, Tanjung Pinang Development (TPD) is also reclaiming 131 acres off the Gurney Drive foreshore for the Penang State Government at its own cost. The Penang State Government has made known that a public park, Gurney Wharf, is slated to be created within the 131 acres on Gurney Drive foreshore.

TPD, appreciating how special Gurney Drive is in the hearts and minds of Penangites as well as Malaysians as a whole, took the initiative to commission leading local and international architects to produce a concept masterplan for Gurney Wharf for the consideration of the state government. These experts include Malaysia’s GDP Architects who produced the overall masterplan; Grant Associates for the landscaping and Jerde International for the retail F&B component.

The proposed Gurney Wharf concept masterplan encompasses four distinct character areas: Seaside Retail F&B, Water Gardens, Beach and Coastal Grove.
